A single threshold breach does not always provide enough context to determine whether an issue requires attention. With New Relic Compound Alerts, teams can combine up to five existing alert conditions and use AND and OR logic to define the specific combination that triggers a compound alert event.
For example, rather than opening an alert event whenever application latency increases, a team can require both elevated latency and an increase in error rate. This helps teams avoid reacting to isolated threshold breaches and focus on combinations of conditions that more accurately represent the situations they want to investigate.
Compound Alerts gives teams greater control over their alerting strategies while improving the quality of the signals that initiate investigation and response. As part of the Detect stage of New Relic Autonomous Operations, it helps teams identify when related conditions collectively warrant attention, while keeping customers in control of the conditions and logic used.
